I love a good copy test. It’s the best way — maybe the only way — to truly show the impact of a good copywriter. So when Amazon asked me to create a copy testing plan for the Payments team, I was ready. I created a few dozen copy blocks to test brand voice, Prime status, declined cards, and more, across different points in the purchase path.
The first test crushed the control by a projected $30M annually.
The remaining tests ran after I left, so I’ll never know exactly how much I made for Amazon, but I know they got the better end of that deal.
